Cloud Control Win The AMP

It's been a great year for Cloud Control, and now they've gone and won themselves the Australian Music Prize, $30,000 and some very, very well-earned praise.

Beating The Holidays, Dan Kelly, Sally Seltmann, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Gareth Liddiard, Tame Impala, Pikelet and Richard In Your Mind (although The Holidays snagged The Red Bull Prize for $15,000) they'll now definitely have enough money for the travels overseas that have been on the cards for them for a while.

After stunning audiences at Meredith Music Festival last year and Laneway this year, Cloud Control have spent the 2010 wowing audiences all around the country, not just in their home town of Sydney.

Their album Bliss Release has collected their well-known songs into a beautiful creative work that the band will shortly release in 'deluxe' version along with a national tour.

Lisa Mitchell took out the AMP last year and Oh Mercy snagged the Red Bull Prize. The awards prompted some controversy last year about the judging panel and how decisions were made (continued this year by Everett True on his own blog).

Congratulations to Cloud Control! They play The Forum on March 25.
