Name Change For Howl

Another band has succumbed to the Triple J Unearthed High name-change syndrome.

Yes, you will probably remember Howl as those rambunctious upstarts from Ballarat who claimed the crown back in late 2009.

Well, times have changed and Howl are no more. The good news is that Hunting Grounds are the very same band. Same music, same members, and a brand new moniker.

What's the deal with the change, you may wonder. The reason is this: Howl is quite possibly one of the most unGoogle-able artist name since Is, who were the Unearthed High winners in 2008 (and subsequently changed their name also).

The band are working hard to present you with your first taste of Hunting Grounds' offerings, with a couple of Melbourne shows next week, followed by some April NSW gigs supporting new buddies Grinspoon.

They do plan on recording a debut album after the sensation of the next couple of months simmers down, which sadly means a break from the road.

But never fear, Hunting Grounds are here to stay!

Check them out at The Johnston (62-70 Johnston St Fitzroy) on Thursday February 17, and at Pushover on Sunday March 13.
