PBS Live Music Week 2011
It's the time of year when the "Home of Little Heard Music", PBS 105.6FM showcases its commitment to live, little-heard music.
Sponsored by Coopers, the Live Music Week will feature performances live from the PBS studios for seven days (because that's how long a week is).
So for the whole week, you don't even need to attend live gigs cause you can just stay in and listen to them on your radio. The live performances will run from Monday, February 21 to Sunday, February 28.
Between 5 and 7pm from February 21 to 25, tune in to hear the Easy Street Sessions special Drive Live series. The performances during these hours will include those from Gareth Liddiard, Lisa Miller, The Surrealistics and Gentle Ben and His Sensitive Side.
But then if you do actually like attending live gigs - because, let's face it, that's always better than just listening to the radio - drop around to Cherry in ACDC lane on February 26 at 8pm and see The Beadmakers, Clairy Browne & The Banging Rackettes, Harmony and DJ Pierre Baroni. All you need in terms of entry fee is to scrounge around in your pockets for a gold coin to donate.
