Poor People : Phreex!/Finger And Thumb

Erica and her brother Lloyd lead this mucky, messy psychedelic blues group – yet another Melbourne rock act that takes great pride in being broke and drunk. Awesome. After a couple of years of wowing the crowd at The Tote with their wild and hilarious live music shenanigans (I’m working from the press release here), they have released this little duplex single. Finger And Thumb, a pale imitation of Grinderman, has some hollering to enliven it at least. Phreex! is a flat stew of notes with a series of irritating growls by Erica, who makes a whole lot of angry noise without saying anything interesting.
