Nightmaster : Tiger EP

Melbourne’s Nightmaster are a three piece instrumental act with a penchant for calypso and Afro-beat. The sounds of world music bubble only softly through their music, however – it’s mostly jangly, circular indie rock riffs – less like Paul Simon and more like The Police. There are harder edges, too, recalling similar art rock experiments by Love Of Diagrams (Parents Of A Good Son), and a straight-faced surf rock piece that owes a big debt to The Shadows (The Triumphant Cowboy).
