Gotye is back!

...But what does that name mean?

Frankly, who cares? With those bouncy ringlets, that sexy, smooth-operator voice, Wally De Backer can call himself any name he pleases.

Wally's Gotye project is a montage of emotions mish-mashed over samples from vinyl records and cassette tapes.

We loved his 2006 album Like Drawing Blood, which won him an ARIA for Best Male Artist in 2007.

Gotye's latest single Eyes Wide Open was released online and vinyl (very cool).

He has just played at The National Theatre last week and will be at the sold-out Laneway Festival on February 5,
