The spooky season event features a selection of local and internationally acclaimed artists including J-Heasy, Indian Summer, Who Killed Mickey, Dom Dolla, Sydney gutter-tech boys Go Freek, and international electronic heavyweights DCUP and Yolanda Be Cool. The lineup promises dance sets to shake the roof of Festival Hall late into the night.

Representing a new peak of Halloween revelry, 3000 punters can expect a bass-driven evening of house and dance tracks to keep the energy pumping throughout this macabre masquerade. The festival offers a spectacular visual and light show to enshrine its line-up of rising Australian stars, with production design by technical director Jake Ploss bringing his unique vision to Trick or Beat after designing experiences for music festivals including Defqon.1 and Paradise.

Jake, 20, has been running his own entertainment services company since he was old enough to get an ABN. “I’ve always had a keen interest in expanding my horizons,” he says. “I wanted to bring something fresh to the table with the events we create, and Trick or Beat is shaping up to be just that. It is constantly evolving and presenting new challenges that I and the team thrive on”.

For those who can’t wait until October, Trick or Beat acts will be headlining a free Halloween in July warm-up session at Penny Black in Brunswick on July 24, offering a taste of what the festival will have to offer at the end of winter.
