Terry Pratchett – Wheeler Centre Event

The Wheeler Centre is bringing you mind-blowing fantasy author Terry Pratchett.

It’s a decade in which vampires seem to have infected the literary world and a revisiting of Terry Pratchett’s witty and imaginative Discworld novels may be the only cure.

And what better way to do that than to meet the knight himself?

The Wheeler Centre is inviting YOU to the Story Hall at RMIT for a one-night-only extravaganza on the back of a giant turtle. From 7:30 to 8:30 on Tuesday, April 12 (diarise it quickly) the satirical, fantasy genius will be in the house blowing your minds.

According to Pratchett, the Discworld series started out as an "antidote to fantasy", somewhere in the early 80s when there were "far too many copies of Tolkien floating about." Pratchett took it upon himself to "lighten up" the fantasy gentre a little.  And boy did he do a good job!

Since that worthy aspiration, the long-running series has been translated into 32 languages and sold over 60 million copies wordwide. Pratchett was knighted in 2007 and has won a whole heap of literary awards – and rightly so.

Buy a ticket for $20 or $12 concession and see the legend. You’ll be inspired to say the least.
