2010 has been an outstanding year for the VRDL – three different teams, six bouts, a national competition and interstate bouts all culminating at the end of November, with a Grand Final double header at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

This year has shown off the developing skills of the VRDL to their best advantage; they’ve set new records for high scores, and new extremes for nail-biting finishes. The VRDL have also welcomed in a dozen new skaters this year, who bring with them a lot of experience, a lot of dedication, and a lot of skill – especially in jamming – so expect to see some of their more seasoned jammers face a challenge in 2011.

The Grand Final is the pinnacle of the 2010 season and will be a double header – the first match being VRDL‘s Dead Ringer Rosies vs. Geelong’s Bloody Marys, followed by a match that will combine the best of everything seen so far this year – crowd favourites Toxic Avengers taking on the newcomer Dolls Au-Go-Go in a hard-fought battle to be champions.

Be there as it all comes to a close at the VRDL grand final at the Melbourne Showgrounds Grand Pavilion on Saturday November 27 from 4pm.
