Shadow Electric Cinema

Launching on Thursday January 12, the Shadow Electric Open Air Cinema will be showcasing an incredible range of films at The Abbotsford Convent. Films from the brilliant Rowland S. Howard documentary Autoluminescent, to Stanley Kubrick’s Lolita to recent sensation Attack The Block will be screened over the season – an intriguing lineup of films that ends in April. I’d like to personally thank the nuns for letting us use their equipment and I can’t wait to meet some of you at the Sister Act 2 screening. Get thee to a nunnery! We have a couple of gift vouchers to give away. So tell us which movie you'd like to see and why for your chance to win.

I'd love to see Midnight in Paris. I watched the start of it on the plane trip home from overseas and was enjoying it so much but I was so exhausted from the journey I basically conked out midway. I'd love to see it in full this time 'round!

Lolitta, because clockwork orange made me want to see all of Kubricks films, and this is probably my only chance to see one in a cinema

Lolita! Nabokov, Kubrick and Sellers all in the one movie. Its one of my all time favorite films and like Monz said, it might be the only chance ill get to see it in all its glory on the old big screen. . Also, Autoluminescent because Roland is The Man and from what ive heard the film is a fitting tribute.

"Crazy, Stupid, Love" seems a good choice. It looks like a ROMCOM of interest to both genders, and light enough so that it can't possibly be ruined by clinking of glasses and background chatter.

I would love to see Submarine. My best friend and I missed out on tickets during the Film Festival and would love to see it in a real cinema rather than on DVD.

I would love to see Attack the Block because I haven't yet and I'm a fan of modern day Scifi. Also its by the producers who made Shaun of the Dead which was awesome.

Definitely Drive for me. Easily my favourite film of 2011, the soundtrack especially made it for me. Plus the convent would be such a beautiful setting. Lentil as Anything and an awesome outdoor cinema?! Heaven.

Lolita, cause no matter how many time this movie has been re-made, the spirit and love transpired by the characters of the original movie hasn't been equaled
