Bikes are so much more versatile than cars. Can you think of any other form of transportation that can travel with ease upon footpaths, narrow tracks and roads whilst being eco friendly as well as allowing you to be fit and healthy?

Seriously, cars are terrible in comparison

I have got back on the treadlie now as my commute vehicle of choice after a long break and it takes me less time to ride to work than it did to drive! Cars are like guns.....its the driver that can kill or maim. Did Dr Martin Luther King say "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all cyclists are created equal.....except for car drivers"?

Have you ever caught the tram down Chapel/Church St? Or even worse have you ever driven? I have to do this everyday for work and it can take up to an hour, when in actual fact it should really only take 15 mins. With a bike you can zip through the traffic with ease and in less time, and I mean who doesn't want more time for a sleep in???

Riding a bike is better then driving a car as it allows for more escape options when in dangerous or illegal situtations.

If you find yourself hurtling towards a semi trailer ghosty the bike, drop and roll.

Being chased by a Paddy Wagon, quick to the alley way, if that fails ghosty the bike at the cop and start fence hoping.

And if it gets real hairy, fly over the moon.

Could you have so many options for grand escape routes in a car? I think not

To be honest I have a rather large and unhealthy fear of bicycles. (multiple incidents throughout my childhood involving bikes and myself flying through sky have lead to this fear) however, bikes have that whole environmentally friendly vibe going on and you rarely see bike jams in the city so a mojo bike might encourage me to get over the fear and take advantage of the many positive factors of bicycles.

Most of the time it's faster to ride than to drive. Besides any excuse to pour my fat ass into a lycra outfit is a good enough excuse for me and if i wear it in a car who would see my helmet..

Riding a bike is better than driving for a number of reasons: there are no high costs involved in bike riding, it is healthier and of course much better for the environment.

When you drive a car to work you're tired and stressed from being stuck in traffic, as well as likely being late. Bikes not only let you ride past all the cars stuck at red lights, by doing exercise they release endorphins which make you happier and gets oxygen flowing to your brain which makes you more productive at work.

Riding a bike is supremely better than driving a money and fuel guzzling car, and not just for the financial and environmental benefits. Riding a bike is good for the soul. You can fly down the streets without a care in the world, hop between pavement, road and grass, skip the stress of traffic, be blissfully unaware of parking issues, get your heart rate up, the endorphins flowing and look pretty damn cool while you’re doing it!

Apart from the obvious reasons like they are better for the environment and a great source of excercise, bikes are far more cost effective. I am a poor uni student/musician and I need a bike to get around. It doesnt cost me an arm and a leg on registration, fuel, services and insurance. This means I can save money, eat healthier, and afford the occasional goon sack!

5 reasons why bicycles are handy :
1.they can fit into small spaces, unlike cars so its easy to get a park, for example. yesterday my friend and i went riding around the inner city and we wanted to get a bite to eat, so we parked our bicycles in hotel clarendon disabled bathrooms whilst we at our $10 schnitzels because we didnt have chains and locks, safe and sound.
2. if they break down, there are alot of bike shops and fixit places around that are so much cheaper then getting your car fixed.
3. you get fitter from riding a bicycle, nobody could possibly say that they had hot legs from driving a car.
4. you look cool because the wind blows your hair back and thats sexy.unless you have no hair or a helmet on in which case your clothes get blown around by the wind, dont worry you still look cool.
5. its environmentally friendly! mother nature will thank you for your generosity and guarantee that your land is prosperous, this is why my garden patch has been so fruitful this season my carrots are HUGE!

Back in my little country town, I was known as the "town bike". Which was odd, because I didn't own a bike. But it still made me very popular. I would now like to actually own a bike, so the nickname will make more sense when I go home to visit.

Cars are cold, big, clunky and impersonal but bikes have personality. Bicycles have soul. They make you feel apart of nature, riding through a park with your wicker trilby hat, long flowing skirt and cute cane basket on the handlebars. You can choose a bike that suits you and while a car becomes old and broken down with age, a bicycle only becomes more loved with wear.
Something can be said about learning to ride a bike for the first time, everyone has their own stories and sepia focused memories of that first wobble and the beaming smile as you start riding it yourself. The first time driving a car induced more of a state of panic, fear and frustration. Bicycles are simpler; they don’t need petrol or that much maintenance. Riding a bike is an experience as some people ride for the feeling of doing so not only to get from point A to point B.
Bicycles also gave us ET riding over the moon, Butch Cassidy finding joy riding through the country with raindrops keep falling on my head playing and Napoleon Dynamite showing Pedro some “sweet jumps”. Whereas cars cause accidents, pollution and drain your bank account.
Bicycles have a spirit about them, make you feel great when you ride and just look so darn adorable!

bikes give you the freedom to go anywhere you want! riding a bike is so much better than diving a car (pfft) because you get to feel the wind brush through your hair and body in complete fresh air. no petrol, no sitting getting sweaty in a box, no carbon emissions; just pure enjoyment. to me personally, one of the greatest joys in the world for all ages!!! (p.s my bike has recently broken and is unfixable, i feel a part of me has died :( i need a new one unfortunately)

Travelling by car,
May get you far
But there’s nothing quite like,
Riding a bike.
It’s active and healthy,
Yet speedy and stealthy,
The best view of the Beat
Is from a comfy bike seat!

Bikes
They make you fit so you look hot. Cars make your butt big.
You look hot riding bikes. Driving doesn’t really show off your physical attributes.
It’s a sustainable form of transport – minimising the impact of pollution on the environment. Cars are filthy and disgusting and everyone knows it.
You create beautiful memories riding bikes. Melbourne has some lovely parks and rivers you can ride along and through. Roads aren’t so scenic.
Exercise makes you happy. Peak hour traffic makes you crazy.
There’s a childish joy you experience whilst riding bikes. Driving is boring or stressful.
And if you and your friends have bikes you can start a bike gang and give your gang a cool name like the Night Riders, or the Banditos. You can’t really have a car gang… Well I guess you could, but it wouldn't be anywhere near as cool as a bike gang : )

Then a bunch of other stuff..
Then the wheel...
Then many years later (1818 to be exact) Sauerbronn's bicycle was first exhibited in Paris...
So in finishing...Bikes are old school ( much cooler than cars)

Benefits of Biking

Cycling shapes up that bootie and gives you legs of steel
You wont get calves like Lance from your auto mobile
Its got a basket on the front that carries home all my stuff
You'll find it quicker than walking interestingly enough
It feels like flying when I'm whizzing through traffic
Soon enough us bikies will be the big demographic
With my zero emissions I'm slowing global warming
Covered in sweat and lycra, looks like I'm your prince charming
With no need to pay for gas or parking fees
The choice is so simple like A B C's

Lets all switch to bikes, Top scientists believe that the Earth will send a little extra love to those who do!

Well there’s fresh air, sights, sounds and smells not to mention the positive effects on your health, happiness AND Ms. Mother Nature! The ability to zig in out of traffic, streets and adventures. The wonderful feeling of finding a parking space easily and no need for petrol or the queues that come along with it. You can take a bike on public transport, a plane and even carry it on your shoulder if you really had to! Did I mention I’m looking to buy a bike at this very minute and this would be AMAZINGLY wonderful and so so helpful :)

Riding a bike is good for your health and fitness; you do not need petrol ergo no air pollution; you don't need a parking space; and it does not cost any registration fees or insurance.
