The Kooks

The Kooks sold out their original show and have now bumped up their gig to Festival Hall on Wednesday January 4. Gotta give the people what they want. The all ages gig has support from Sydney-siders Toucan and tickets are available through Ticketmaster now, or if you’re lucky, you could win the double pass we are giving away on our site. The Killers in 2007. Sam's Town tour, mum and I went on a whim and had the most amazing night, some top tunes old and new. Brandon Flowers was a great performer. It was bliss.

The HoodooGurus, supported by Died Pretty. Not a huge crowd, so plenty of room for dancing & just generally going nuts.

Wombats and Faker last october, was incredible ...kooks however are just my music to keep me entertained while taking the train anywhere, they're one of those bands you can just listen to sitting on the train, headphones in, sunglasses on and their music will just make you smile. which is great when you're on a train in peak hour smiling at what seems like the randoms around you, confusing people a lot. their concert however would be a different and more fantastic experience entirely!

KOL 2008. The crowd was crazy for the rawness of the lads before big stadium rock took them over. Charmer was an absolute standout...as an album track i was very unimpressed...it is now still my favourite KOL track based on that 1 live performance.

unbelievable gig which sold out in a snap
one of only a handfull of shows that they played while inbetween First Impressions of Earth and Angles. The setlist was truely amazing!

Panic at the Disco back in high school - was my first ever concert and my first mosh experience when I was game enough to elbow my way in there. Scary. But awesome fun - that lead singer is such a genius!

Kings Of Leon - January 2008.
It was a 35 degree day in Melbourne, and being obsessed with Kings and having floor tickets, me and my friends lined up from midday for 6 and half hours with no water (otherwise we would lose our place in line haha). We got in at 7pm. And got crushed in the moshpit cause people were insane! Was so insane that my friend's knee was dislocated at the front, and we both had to be pulled out of the pit and spent the rest of the concert watching KOL from the first aid section. Most eventful gig I've ever been to that's for sure!

In January last year I saw Paramore, my absolute favourite band at their side wave. The gig wasn’t only the best I’ve seen at Festival hall but one of the best I’ve ever seen in my whole concert-going life. They played all of their hits and it felt really intimate (unlike when I saw them in October last year at Sidney Myer)

Despite being almost killed in the mosh pit, I managed to make a few friends who I still speak to and also discovered ‘you me at six”

Festival Hall is truly my favourite venue. Having seen Paramore, The Fray, The wombats and been to the counter revolution I can honestly say I have much more appreciation for the somewhat shitty looking venue than most.

Pulp earlier this year. Not only because I got to watch a middle-aged Jarvis Cocker air-hump the monitors, but also because the lady next to me told everyone who tried to push in front of her to fuck off. Meant we got a great view the entire time.

La Roux in 2010. Definitely one of few artists you can say sounds better live than on CD. The duo brought great vibes and an unforgetable atmosphere to the intimate venue where there was not one person seated the entire night. The band was also accompanied by Tim and Jean and Bertie Blackman who proved to be worthy of supporting.
