A Chorus Line

Based on true stories told by a clan of New York dancers on tape in one long session, A Chorus Line revolutionised Broadway for 15 years as it became the longest running musical in Broadway history. The show won nine Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. In an empty theatre, on a bare stage, auditions for a new Broadway musical are almost finished. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. It's the one opportunity to do what they've always dreamed – to have the chance to dance. This brilliant Broadway Production comes to Her Majesty's Theatre, and we have a few giveaways up for grabs. So. Tell us why there's no business like show business.

The people, the costumes, the scenery, the make-up, the props, the buzz, there’s no business like show business.

The classic says it all...
'No where can you get that happy feeling
When you are stealing that extra bow'
I mean, it's all about performing and making people happy, right?!

Show business is unique in that your goal is to entertain. What a great challenge but also such a rewarding challenge. It would be awesome to be able to bring a smile by simply singing and dancing for an audience.

Nothing makes you happier then being a part of something great and special. And what's more great and special then a performance that includes dance, music and acting? You always walk out with a big smile and the feeling that you can accomplish anything in life. There is no business like show business!

There is no business like show business because nothing else quite gives you that buzz like song and dance. Nothing better when music and dance absorbs and takes over you!

Show business, sometimes shortened to show biz, is a vernacular term for all aspects of entertainment. The word applies to all aspects of the entertainment industry from the business side (including managers, agents, producers and distributors) to the creative element (including artists, performers, writers, musicians and technicians).. The term was in common usage throughout the 20th century. By the latter part of the century it had acquired a slightly arcane quality associated with the era of variety, but the term is still in active use.

No matter what the economy is like or what is happening in the world, there's no business like show business because it never stops....the show always goes on, pleasing and delighting the hoards (or at least giving the tabloids something to gossip about or run into the ground).

Because otherwise then the business would be show business eg; lights, dancing, action etc. As opposed to monkey business eg; playing with monkeys

People always want to escape their lives, regardless how good or bad they are even if it's only for a couple of hours. Show Business capitalises on this, raking in the cash because the human race is just plain unhappy with it's lot in life. I most certainly am, so tickets please! :)
