Bild-Lilli

As part of the Malthouse Theatre's Helium Productions for 2012 comes Bild-Lilli, a play about the hard drinking and smoking hot Barbie doll predecessor, covering her transformations from a 1950s newspaper cartoon, German men’s toy and her most recent carnation as the pink-and-polyester party girl . Barbie may have stolen her style, but Bild-Lilli has tackled some difficult situations in her time; image obsession, celebrity, even the neckline of a dirndl, but none so difficult as when she finds herself fighting for her status back. Bild-Lilli opens at the Malthouse Theatre on Wednesday July 18 and we have a couple of double passes to give away. For your chance to win, tell us what childhood toy you're still secretly holding on to.

My teddy. He wears a trenchcoat, leather slippers and tartan scarf. His name is Bruno which made the release of that movie all the more awkward.

My "Footrot Flats" plush Dog. He's a character of many sides and I've only appreciated this more as I've gotten older.
