The Amazing Spider-Man

Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can - and quite possibly more now that you can witness Marvel's red-and-blue web-swinging superhero in 3D. Staring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans, The Amazing Spider-Man is the newest adaptation of Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko's character, who first appeared in Marvel's comics back in 1962. We've got a few double passes to see The Amazing Spider-Man in 3D on the amazing IMAX screen. You want 'em, tell us about the first comic you ever read. Did yours come from a Melbourne show bag?

First comic I ever read was in 2005, as I'm only 16, I was quite young at the time. A seedy second hand bookshop in my area sold vintage comics for $2. The first one I bought was from 1978 where The Thing from The Fantastic 4 was angry that The Hulk got his own TV, they eventually fight and in the end The Thing gets a shitty sit-come.

The first comic I ever read was Asterix. It did come from a Melbourne showbag and the woman who sold it to me had a bulge like the character Obelix, one also higher up and in the rear!!

The first comic I read was Snake Tales. I'd won a book of the comic strips when I was a kid. Either I was too young to get it, or it just wasn't a great one to start with. I vaugely remember one of my uncles saying it was really good...suffice to say it's remained on the bookshelf collecting dust ever since!

The first comic I ever read would have been when I was about 8 years old, way back in 1984. I found comic books stories were rather lame and I tended to just glance through the pictures. My older brother was into Batman and Mad magazine; so there is a fair chance that the first comic I ever read was a Spiderman or Cracked comic. Cheers.

First comic would be The Fantastic Four. I had an extensive collection which all mildewed and rotted in my parent's garage when they moved them out of my room while I was overseas for a couple of years. After 20 years I have forgiven them now.

You know what I reckon it did come from a show bag, I used to go insane in the early 80's watching the Melbourne showbag ads I'd record them & then watch them back too, especially the superhero one's - go spidey!

First comic I read was Ginger Megs. It was quite appropriate as I had a tinge of red hair when I was a boy.

The first Comic book I read was 'Mad Magazine' stolen from my brothers bookshelf
- I was too young to 'get' most of it but I pretended I did anyway.
