Now, how exactly do I enter this comp!? xx
Sorry - just read the instructions!
What is not to love about French cinema?
The language, the scenery, the stories, the streets of Paris.......
Bérénice Bejo ...
Julie Delpy, Juliette Binoche, Isabelle Huppert, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Catherine Deneuve, Emanuelle Beart, Fanny Ardant, oh and Benoit Magimel and Romain Duris too !
It's unpredicatable and refreshing
Kooky humour, sexy accents, and so often an unpredicted angle - both in script and cinematography. French film, so good it doesn't even need popcorn!
To be honest, my knowledge of French film is very limited. As a budding Film Producer, understanding international films and their appeal is crucial if you wish to gain international distribution from your own films. I look forward to seeing and understanding all the hype that surrounds French film. The creative plot, dialogue and in-depth characters. I’m sure this is going to be a breath of fresh air compared to what is coming out of Hollywood at the moment.
It's that certain "Je Ne Sais Quoi!"
i'm studying french in VCE now and its just a great experience to be able to sit and watch french films and be able to understand them. its so different (and better) than american or australian movies. really great entertain and above all else, best movies made!
That when watching it women can't help but love your sophistication.
I devise drinking games around the films of gerard depardieu
The richness of the story, the style of the actors, the sultriness, sexiness and oah, la, la, I can actually feel like a Frenchman when I walk out of the cinema.
French movies always seem quite romantic and dramatic but at the same time they can produce some of the funniest moments - i.e., Heartbreaker.
Parce que j'ai fait un cours de francais pendant 5 ans et personne ne veut jamais parler le langage de l'amour... Merde!
The sexual innuendos that French have in English: "God" is short for a dildo, "Jesus" means "I suck d*ck" phonetically, "Saint" is a boob and knowing that "bless" means "to hurt", well imagine what would be "God bless you".... not to mention the incessant "oh my god"!
The red wine that is being drunk, the cigarettes that are being smoked and the good style of the french actresses is what makes french cinema a pleasure to watch. Oh, and the language.
Like pure butter on a warm croissant, they make a good thing simply superb!
Je enjoy le cinema de francais pourquoi je can practice moi language skills. Je was tres bon at le francais at l'ecole. Merci et au revoir.

The unique, intelligent and sophisticated style of story telling which often features true to life characters.
what i love about french film is that everything is sooooo sexually charged. They are almost always a sophisticated version of a porno, even french porn is like a film and not people just getting it on. God bless the french.
Its beautiful and oh so much classy nudity. Also the language is truly sultry.
nudity. and sex. the english and americans are such prudes...
The subtle humour gets me every time! Just look at City of the Lost Children, beautiful, dark yet humorous not to mention a wonderfully enjoyable story! Also Delicatessen, brilliant, I could watch it every week. The French just have it!
Well, for me it was always Alain Delon! Huge fan. But the women - to many legendary actresses of the past. But now - Audrey Tautou. How can you not just love the lady! Thanks
Instead of relying on over-the-top special effects and seemingly never-ending car chases and explosions, French cinema produces films with riveting plots, captivating characters and a sense of humour and style that's second to none.
French films have an uncanny knack for unique and provocative story lines and narration, and paired with incomparable cinematography, result in some amazing pieces of film. "Amelie" is my favourite!
French cinema can be groundbreaking (A bout de Souffle), magical (Amelie), erotic (Belle de Jour), hilarious (The Closet) and just downright brilliant (The 400 Blows). Also, Melanie Laurent!!

oh i love french movies - its pretty much what i came to melbourne for arty culture n all that .
French films are not afraid to take a different approach to the usual action or romance movies of America & Australia. It is very refreshing and sometimes usual, but that is why I love it!
