Sugar Mountain First Lineup Announcement

Sugar Mountain – Australia's newest music and arts festival – has just rolled out its first lineup announcement, and it certainly brings the ruckus.

Art-pop veterans Deerhoof, avant-garde hip hop act Shabazz Palaces, as well as Tune-Yards, Thee Oh Sees, John Maus, Julianna Barwick, Sun Araw, Prince Rama and World's End Press have all been announced with plenty more to be added later.

The festival, however, is not limited to music, as it also celebrates and embraces other artforms. Stay tuned for the visual arts program announcement in October 2011.

Sugar Mountain will take place over several days, with the main event happening at The Forum on Saturday January 14, 2012. The festival will make use of Federation Square, No Vacancy Gallery as well as ACMI to treat Melburnians to a range of talented local and international artists. Tickets go on sale at this Wednesday September 28 at 9am through Ticketmaster.
