Another list of artists has been released by Bluesfest for the festival in 2018. The new lineup announcement lists Youssou N’Dour, Seal, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Jackson Browne, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Gomez, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, The Original Blues Brothers Band, Jimmy Cliff, The Wailers, Benjiman Booker, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Canned Heat, Walter Trout, Andre Cymone and the Teskey Brothers as getting in on the action.

“Our second Bluesfest artist announcement features a cross section of artists,” says Peter Noble, Bluesfest director. “From the greatest African artist of our time, to incredible singers, to the best in Americana, reggae, blues and roots music and more. Each festival is a hand-crafted labour of love.”

Senegalese artist Youssou N’Dour is bringing his twenty-piece band, that includes acrobats, to the festival for a truly spectacular performance. He is known for his work with Paul Simon and Peter Gabriel. With singers Robert Plant and Lionel Richie already on the line-up, it just keeps getting better with the additions of Seal (Crazy, Kiss From a Rose, judge on The Voice) and Jimmy Cliff.

“Michael Franti and Spearhead have been playing Bluesfest for a long time now. The reason we keep bringing them back is simple, they are one of the best festival bands ever. They are guaranteed to get everyone pumped, and into the collective trance state Michael calls ‘One Mind.’”

One of the newest acts, Rag’n’Bone Man grew up listening to his parents’ collection of blues but now mixes it with contemporary hip hop.

In true fashion of the festival, it’s an eclectic combination of artists both old and new.
