A free music and arts festival is coming to Pentridge Prison
If you've ever wanted to enjoy a music festival in the former Pentridge Prison, here's your chance.
The two-day free community event is set to commemorate 20 years since Australia's most iconic prison's closed in 1997.
The former prison site will be transformed into a vibrant festival for all ages, featuring performances from local musicians and Melbourne's most popular food trucks and market stalls.
Visitors will also be able to embark on free, intimate tour of Pentridge's dark past.
A lineup of diverse local acts are set to perform on the Pentridge stage including soul vibes from Big Words, Melbourne DJ collective Cumbia Massive, hip hop upstarts Billy Davis fresh from a stellar Golden Plains set and alt-Latin band Funkalleros.
The event will take place Saturday April 8 and Sunday April 9 at 1 Champ Street, Coburg - the Piazza at Pentridge. more details here.
