Brunswick Music Festival announces 2018 program

Brunswick Music Festival makes its return in March 2018 with its iconic fortnight-long party celebrating 30 years of live and local talent. The festival continues its reputation as one of Melbourne’s biggest annual music events as it runs from Sunday March 4 to Sunday March 18. The program contains both free and ticketed events taking place at venues such as Howler, Brunswick Mechanics Institute, Rubix Warehouse and the Spotted Mallard.

This year the festival’s hub is the Brunswick Mechanics Institute and will host both performances and a new professional development series for both industry professionals old and new.

Brunswick has been recognised as the Australian suburb that houses the most songwriters and the festival features the talent from its own postcode as well as its surrounds. This year’s local artists include All Our Exes Live in Texas, Benny Walker and a line-up of acts from label Psychic Hysteria.

International acts are hot this year with Masta Ace, Daymé Arocena, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, My Bubba and Jojo Abot.

As per usual the Sydney Road street party will bring the highly trafficked area to a standstill whilst celebrating sounds, smells and sights. This year will also see the first High Tide Pool Party focussing on music, family fun and quite a few banana lounges at Brunswick Baths. Not to mention Music for the People’s collection of live acts at the Shore Reserve on Sunday March 18.

More additions to the already amazing program will arrive in February, so stay tuned. Tickets and gift vouchers are available now.
