What can we expect at the Wicked Chocolate Festival? A day completely dedicated to chocolate. We’ll have a stack of chocolate exhibitors, tastings and fun activations, cooking demos, a DJ and more.
What was a particularly special moment from last year’s festival? The Weiss chocolate eating competition. Watching contestants shovel as much chocolate into their mouth as they could in two minutes was entertaining – thankfully no-one was sick. It’s back again this year so it’ll be interesting to see just how much these guys can eat.
When was the Wicked Chocolate Festival born? It kicked off in 2016 with the help of the Market’s in-house chocolatier Tad Lombardo of Cioccolato Lombardo. Everyone loves chocolate so we wanted to celebrate its versatility by dedicating an entire day to it.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s festival? Seeing the charity activations. We’ve got the Bash ’n’ Splash this year, where shoppers will have the opportunity to splash select traders with chocolate milk by successfully hitting a target. There’s also the return of the Foost Bikes where shoppers are encouraged to jump on the bikes attached to a blender to create their very own smoothies. All proceeds from these activations will be donated to Very Special Kids.
