Shpongle will tour in 2011 with their full live show and epic sound.
Psychedelic trance/ambient/dreamy-weird-everything ten-piece group Shpongle will tour Melbourne in January 2011.
With their forthcoming 2012 album in the works, this incredible band was formed by Simon Posford (aka Hallucinogen) and Raja Ram after they witnessed a solar eclipse in India. They tried to duplicate the experience in sonic form. They describe their sound as "a strange hybrid of electronic manipulation and shamanic midgets with frozen digits squeezing the envelope an crawling through the doors of perception."
Not too far off the mark, really. Their group now features live vocals, cello, drums, keyboards and ethnic and Eastern instruments.
