Line Drawings

Sydney band Line Drawings will launch their debut album Take/Over at 1000 Pound Bend upstairs in the cinema on Saturday July 31. Along for the ride will be Iowa and Our Anatomy. Take/Over was crafted in the summer of 2009 at various places in Sydney’s inner west, and later polished at either side of the Pacific by Wayne Connolly (You Am I, Youth Group) and Bob Weston (Sebadoh, Archers Of Loaf).

Iowa bring distortion-drenched dynamics and lo-fi feelings to the show with their debut 7 inch, which you’ll be able to buy on the night. Line Drawings and friends will be rocking it in their interesting venue choice at the end of the month. For your chance to win a double pass and a copy of their album, just tell us in the comments box below about your most formative indie rock experience.

THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED.

Going to see 78 Saab for the very first time when I was 18 at the Espy. All my other friends were listening to stuff that I couldn't identify with and finally I had found my own thing. From here I discovered plenty of other gems.

going to see Dan Kelly at 1000 Pound Bend in the art gallery for his album launch, and just dancing on a table with some friends to the cool sounds of the Bindi Irwin Apocolypse Jam

Crowd surfing and loosing my shoes during a shihad set at a "Rock it" festival in Perth. I was 15 and that was almost 10 years ago. these days I avoid mosh pits and I take extra care when tying my shoe laces.
