Last Day Of Summer
Music News
Say goodbye to clear warm nights, midnight skinny dipping, Sunday arvo picnics in the park and well, summer fun in general, because The Last Day Of Summer is almost here.
In the carefree spirit of the season, local heroes Henry Wagons (Melbourne's answer to Johnny Cash), Beaches (five ladies creating sprawling psych-rock sounds - pictured), Crayon Fields (dreamy pop kids) and Ned Collette and Wirewalker (one of Australia's finest songwriters) will play a free live gig on Sunday February 28 to ensure you make the most of this last day of sunny bliss.
The free concert will take place at the Grollo Equiset Garden, outside the National Gallery of Victoria, on St Kilda Road from 1pm.
Bring along a picnic rug and lounge about the sculpture garden, enjoy gourmet goodies from the BBQ and you can even duck into the Ron Mueck exhibition at the NGV International, which will be open until 9pm.
