I caught them for the first time at the Rockwiz Salutes the Bowl and it was one of the most energised sets I had seen for some time. It was a balmy Melbourne night and the setting was perfect. It was just hit after hit - you don't realise how many great songs they have had until you see them live. Would love the opportunity to see them again please!

On the farewell tour at The Palace in St Kilda back around '98. Played for over three hours and Brad Shepherd did some of the best rock guitar moves ever. Such a great band. Reckon I've seen em 20 times over the last 15 years - hopefully I'll get a pair of tickets to this gig somehow? ;)

My favourite Hoodoos show was at the Corner Hotel's 10th birthday celebrations. The played under the name "The Kings of Moomba" and they didn't play any songs recorded after 1985. I'd seen them probably 20 times before and was expecting them to do a number of old songs-but to get Stoneage Romeos & Mars Needs Guitars in full, plus a few covers that they did in the early days was magnificent.

In 2005 Le Hoodoo Gurus played a show at The Corner Hotel. Pretty sure it was a mid week show and as soon as they walked on stage, Dave Faulkner mentioned that Wally Meanie had organised the gig and that they wouldn't be playing any songs that night from after 1985. (maybe something to do with the Stoneage Cameos release and/or The Corner 20th Birthday?) The Hoodoos then proceeded to play pretty much Stoneage Romeos, Mars Needs Guitars in their entirety plus a few other songs from that era.

A conversation I overheard standing next to one of the pylons front and centre heading towards the finale of the gig was "what's next?" with the excited reply "probably 'Arthur', they haven't got anything else left!". It was good to know I wasn't alone in appreciating a gig that had been placed in a time capsule for 20 years.

Last year at the EG Awards I had the opportunity to thank Wally for setting up that 2005 gig, and as I was doing so, Max Crawdaddy felt it was time to give "(Let's All) Turn On" an airing. My last memory was Wally singing along and perfectly timing the "Le Hoodoo Gurus" line.

My pleasure smiles are hard to deny when I throwback to that 2005 Corner Gig.

I have been wanting to see the Gurus for years, but after only recently becoming of legal age this was the first show I could actually get too, and it went and sold out!
Would simply love to get my hands on some tickets!

with Holy Rollers at the Red Parrot 08/07/85, they had their post-Stoneage Romeos hair and paisley and pointy boots, I have photos from the extreme left and extreme right of the stage 'cos we were all slamming and you'd get physically picked up and moved by the crowd, it was so awesome. My sister spent 2 hours and a whole tin of Elnett Satin replicating Brad's hair then stood dead still and blank faced all night as if she was bored lol

I saw them in the mid 1980s in Southern California. What I remember of the night is the bouncers trying to keep people in their seats, the psychedelic clothes of the fans and buying a tour tshirt (white with a orange background, I kept it for years).

Saw them for the first time last year at the Espy. My mate shouted me the ticket because I was to tight and he couldn't find anyone else to go with. Lucky he was so enthuastic because the gig was awesome! They rocked out all the awesome hits and to top it off I had the pleasure of being wedged in the mosh pit (yes they can still get a mosh pit happenin with ease) between a 45 year old sweaty man playing air drums and his less sweaty 18 year old son playing air guitar. Just shows how timeless they are.
