Gotye Sold Out

gotye.jpg

It’s been three years since Gotye has been in any theatre shows. And after a long anticipated wait he’s back with performances in Sydney and Melbourne.

And this is one popular artist because tickets have already sold out within a day of going on sale.

The return performances follow the release of Eyes Wide Open, the lead signle from Gotye’s forthcoming album due for release in 2011. Although the album is yet to be released it has already been played like crazy on triple j and community radio stations. To go along with the album is a fascinating documentary that goes behind the scenes in the making of the album. Catch its premiere on iTunes Ping on December 7th 2010. But if you can’t wait till then and want a sneak peak, scroll down the page and check out the youtube link.

Integrating bits and pieces from his highly praised records Boardface and Like Drawing Blood, as well as songs from his much awaited new album, audiences at the theatre shows can look forward to an striking clash of sounds, sets and projections. From post-apocalyptic sonic wastelands to 60s soul-inspired pop pastiches, the show is as different and distinctive as Gotye’s studio experiments. Blurring the lines between contemporary pop concert and multimedia theatre experience, the Gotye solo show is an audiovisual event not to be missed.

Gotye will be supported at the Melbourne shows by the talented Tash Parker, whose tasteful tunes assure that the evening will indeed be something extraordinary.

Gotye is also performing at the national Laneway Festival. Tickets to the Sydney and Melbourne events have sold out.
