Fanfarlo

London based indie pop collective Fanfarlo finally make their way to Melbourne this August, following their performance at this year’s Splendour in The Grass and the release of their latest album, Reservoir.

Passion and obsession colliding with mind and matter are a recurring theme on this album, and bass, drums, vocals, trumpet and keyboard are accompanied by saws, clarinets, cellos, mandolins, ukuleles, melodicas, hands clapping and feet stomping.

They play the Northcote Social Club on Thursday August 5 – to win one of two double passes, tell us in the comments box below: if you were going to name a band after a book (as Fanfarlo did), what book would it be?

THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED. THANKS!

Definitely one of Roald Dahl's works: I can't decide between James and the Giant Peach (because of his millions of playmates) or his film script Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (catchy name and entertaining storyline)

The Music today is being trashed by people that Classify them selfs as rock music. Look at the 12 year old kid who parties with Usher and whom only knows how to make noise into a microphone and then runs it though a program just to sound good. it is wrong.
The music now is not Music it is only Noise that has no real meaning other then to be "cool" and role in some cash. the record companies need to have a goo look around because there are so many real bands out there with GOOD music, music with meaning with feelings and heart.
