Emerging Writers Festival

It’s a tough living making ends meet as a freelance writer, but the Emering Writers’ Festival is here to help. Hosted by Joanne Brookfield (who freelances for Beat), the festival’s In The Pub event will feature panellists Chris Flynn, Claire Halliday and Ben Pobjie discussing their journey through the world of freelance writing and revealing the ups and downs of the industry. From journalism to comedy, reviewing to opinion, there’s something for everyone, as well as the opportunity to speak to your favourite freelancer and pick their brains over a beer. It’s on at The Workers Club in Fitzroy on Wednesday May 26 at 7.30pm. To win one of two double passes to the event, tell us in the comments box below which Emerging Writers' Festival event are you most looking forward to seeing other than In The Pub.

I am looking forward to following the red luscious locks and perfectly worded sputterings of my beloved writing goddess, Lorelei Vashti. She is my hero. And I love her.
I am also looking forward to hearing poems being read next week.

Write What You Know - Travel Writing (on the 25th May) might be interesting. Parts of the program are new to me so will hopefully get along to a couple of other events too.
