Deerhoof Song Premiere

We're proud to present to you Deerhoof's new song from their new record.

It's called Behold A Marvel In The Darkness. If you want to hear the rest of the album go here.

Satomi of Deerhoof says about this song...

"
Love grows and fades.
Darkness and shadows of relationships...
High to medium to low..or other direction.
We are emotional sensitive animals.
Grrrrrrl...Prrrrr....
Surfy melancholic guitar calms the ocean.
Poker face keyboard and cold hearted vocal melodies drift away your tears..float and disappear when time passes.
Smile people! Get busy!"

OK! Anyway, the record Deerhoof Vs. Evil will be released January 25 on Polyvinyl Record Co. and also available on cassette from Joyful Noise.

As of Offend Maggie, they have moved from "Fave since Bjork" to "Fave since XTC" to "Fave since Captain Beefheart". OK, they haven't passed XTC for most-listened to in my lifetime - yet. But I haven't been so able to repeatedly listen to so much of a groups material since those aforementioned.

I have usually been a little disappointed with new Deerhoof albums. I really like some of the new stuff, like this song, but I admit I am iffy on several of the songs on this new album, so far. BUT in the case of Deerhoof, I have learned (as in no other case like it) not than to jump to conclusions. I can't imagine now ever being let down by Friend Opportunity(!) Or Runners Four(!!) What the hell was I hearing, anyway? Sure, I skip a couple songs on most of their albums. But nobody touches them in my book these days.

Greatest band ever!! Amazing live. So happy they keep touring. Deerhoof makes my heart feel all warm and fluttery. This world is a better place because they are here =^-^=
