Brewers Feast returns with beers, food and bands

The craft beer and food festival returns.

Brewers Feast, Melbourne’s boutique beer and food festival is coming back with new dates. This time the festival runs at the Abbotsford Convent on Saturday February 3 and Sunday February 4. The festival is made by beer and food lovers for beer and food lovers, offering you Australian craft beer combined with some of Victoria’s finest food. The festival focusses on this pairing of food with beer, wine and cider.

“We feel exploring food paired with beer and wine enhances the flavours and taste to create a memorable experience” says festival co-founder Tyson McGeoch. “We’re looking at sessional, drinkable beers that offer a beer experience for seasoned craft beer lovers or first timers alike.”

In February, Brewers Feast will showcase more than ten exclusive festival beers, that were supported by Bintani and specially brewed for the festival. Another beer to look out for is the collaboration between Prickly Moses and the festival which uses a rare hop from an American Hop Breeding program. This will be the first beer known to use the hop and is said to produce clean bitterness with a stone fruit and spice aroma.

Non-beer drinkers can enjoy Harcourts Cider, non-alcoholic ice tea and wines from Otway Estate and local organic producers.

A new pairing initiative of music and beer means that each artist has a recommended beer sample to accompany their performance. This could be something that the artists prefers or simply something that matches the aesthetic. The live music is from chart topping triple j Unearthed acts such as Shiva and the Hazards, Ben Whiting, Morning Morning, AZTX, Eastbound Buzz, Squid Nebula, Blue Howl, Seventh Winter and Jimmy Harwood.

The food chosen has been donned the best on offer, with smoked meat by Bigger than Texas BBQ, gourmet mac ‘n’ cheese cooked southern style by Twisted Mac, traditional arancini from Melbourne Arancini and more.

Brewers Feast pops up at Abbotsford Convent on Saturday February 3 and Sunday February 4, tickets available on Brewers Feast's website.
