The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is now go, with the first of 559 unique shows starting last night. Tonight, the festival’s managed venues open their doors – with the Melbourne Town Hall, Trades Hall, The Hi-Fi and Victoria Hotel all hosting shows over the next 25 days. A full list of all of today’s shows can be found at the Comedy Festival website.
New venue to the festival The Greek Centre also opens its doors tonight. Located on the corners of Lonsdale and Russell Streets, the venue will host three rooms and comics such as DeAnne Smith, Gordon Southern, and showcase show New Order UK.
ONE-OFF: Zoe McDonald brings back her 2014 festival show tonight for one night only. FOMO: The Fear of Missing Out is on 7.30pm tonight at Monash University’s Alexander Theatre.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE: If you speak Greek or just love your comedy in languages other than English, Kaerina Vrana performs her show About Sex in Greek tonight and every Thursday this festival. 7.30pm at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow.
THURSDAYS ONLY: Magic Steven opens you to his World of Feelings tonight and for the next two Thursday nights this fest. 8pm at the RMIT Kaleide Theatre in the City.
