FAMILYThe (very) Big Laugh Out returns to the stage at Federation Square today. Catch Mr MoriyasuONGALS, Sharon From Canada, Trash Test Dummies and Trygve Wakenshaw. 5.30pm, entry is free.

POP-UP: There’s always comedy going on outside of the festival guide. Tonight the Lords of Luxury bring back their After Dinner Mint for one night only. They will be joined by special guests Nick CodyGen FrickerWil Sylvince and Fiona O’Loughlin. 9.30pm at Bella Union at Trades Hall, tickets from bellaunion.org.au at the door.

DOUBLES: Two editions of theatrical experience Absinthe take place at Spiegelworld at Crown – 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Showcase show Best of British also has two editions – 9.15pm and 10.45pm at the Exford Hotel.

LATE NIGHT: In late night news Jameson Festival Club will keep peeps up late with another Comedy BonanzaNath Valvo hosts Andy MatthewsJames AcasterHannah Gadsby and Puddles Pity Party. Stick around after the comedy for music with DJ Dick Versache. Doors from 11.15pm.

Ali McGregor’s Late-Nite Variety-Nite Night returns to the festival this evening. Special guests this weekend include Em RuscianoRhys Nicholson and Max & Ivan. The Famous Spiegeltent at the Arts Centre, 11.30pm.

Comedy quiz show Facty Fact has a one-off free edition tonight, 11pm at the Tuxedo Cat.
