Sydney has recently enjoyed seven months of The Secret Wars, but it is time for Melbourne to have the pleasure.

Sydney has recently enjoyed seven months of The Secret Wars, but it is time for Melbourne to have the pleasure. For those of you that live under an artistic rock, The Secret Wars is a live battle of the artists, with fresh, raw talent gearing up to strut their stuff.

Secret Wars is all set to tee up some amazing local talent, with Ken Taylor, Drew Funk, Pierre Lloga, Braddock, Bryan Itch, Deb, Scale and Phib being just some of the artists who are getting involved. They will be painting the stage at 1000 Pound Bend, 361 Lt Lonsdale Street, starting Wednesday 8 December.

At the top of this must see event, is the battle of Ken Taylor vs. Deb. Deb, only the second female to participate in this competition, will be doing us proud with her icnonic, irreplaceable style. Ken Taylor is a world famous illustrator who has designed posters for Ben Harper, Kings of Leon and Bob Dylan, among many more.

The rules of Secret Wars are:

• 90 minutes on the battle clock

• Only black markers and black acrylic paint can be used to paint

• No pencils/sketches should be on stage or used (loose rule)

• Each artist has to stay within the allocated space

• Battles are judged by 2 nominated and neutral guest judges + crowd vote

The best part is that after the judges cast their votes, the audience gets to be involved with the more-fun-than-effective ‘decibel vote’.

Don’t miss out, tickets are limited. Head to moshtix.com.au for more information.
