Pro-Ject Audio’s Debut Carbon Turntable Gets an Upgrade

The Debut Carbon is one of the World’s most popular hi-fi turntables. It’s an elegantly designed belt driven unit built with the home user in mind. With a lightweight carbon fibre tonearm, a minimalistic and audio-driven design, interchangeable interconnects, dust cover and plethora of striking gloss finishes, the Debut Carbon comprises features that are seldom seen on other turntables in this category. Now, Project Audio has just announced that a new iteration of the Debut Carbon has just been released, now available with an upgraded Ortofon 2M Red Moving Magnet Cartridge pre-fitted.

Modern design elements unique to the Ortofon 2M Red Cartridge have enabled it to produce the lowest levels of colouration ever achieved in a moving magnet design. On its own this cartridge is valued at $169.99, making these newly upgraded Debut Carbons quite an appetising prospect for those looking to get their hands on a new turntable.

Project Audio has placed a great deal of emphasis on functionality on their product line, but they’ve also gone to great lengths to ensure that they’re aesthetically pleasing. Minimalist design principles are employed across the entire range, so that the turntables aren’t cluttered with arbitrary features, only ones that are necessary for you to get the most out of your listening experience. The Debut Carbon is no exception. The layout is simple, the lines are sleek and sharp and it’s available in a variety of eye catching high gloss finishes.

The Debut Carbon 2M Reda comes with an RRP of $629, representing the perfect intersection of value and functionality, providing a level of performance and sonic clarity not previously seen in products at this price point.
