The Indigenous Award Finalist for the 2023 Queensland Music Awards, Sunny Luwe, is releasing the sun-soaked music video for Fly Luke A Bird today.
Hailing from the Gold Coast (Kombumerri Country), rising artist and proud Weilwan woman Sunny Luwe is today releasing her latest synth-y summer dream single Fly Like A Bird. Taking inspiration from the rhythmic sounds of the 60s and 70s, as well as more contemporary 90s pop artists like Nelly Furtado, Luwe’s latest track is complemented by an equally soaring music video.

Co-written with Grammy-nominated artist Sally Seltmann (Seeker Lover Keeper, New Buffalo), Fly Like A Bird evokes a nostalgic sensation of a coastal road trip.
Premiering today on Beat, the music video for Fly Like A Bird, filmed by videographer Roan Sajko, features light-filled scenes of coastal living, perfectly complementing the uplifting gratitude Sunny feels for her Australian home. Check it out below.
In addition to her musical pursuits, Sunny Luwe is also taking on the role of custodian and role model by offsetting the carbon generated through the release of Fly Like A Bird with donations to Queensland not-for-profit Rainforest 4.
This project is focused on buying back development blocks near the Daintree Rainforest in North Queensland. “Over the past few years I have been working diligently at my career, however I felt I was denying my power to effect meaningful change,” says Sunny Luwe.
“I wanted that to shift that in 2023, so I’m really embracing my responsibility to myself, others and the Earth by offsetting my musical projects.”
