The rapidly growing, boutique, artist development agency is changing the game for musicians, and music businesses alike.

For new and developing artists, the music industry can be notoriously tricky. There’s building a fanbase, figuring out the right time to drop albums and singles, keeping up with social media trends and phases, appealing to promoters for shows, gathering press coverage and lots of learning… And let’s be honest, most musicians would rather spend their valuable time actually making music.

Many artists also feel that if they reach out for professional help, they might lose control over the creative aspect of their personal brand. This is why it’s so important to pick the right team.

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Cartel Management Australia is a Melbourne-based creative agency established in 2015 whose ethos puts artists and businesses at the forefront. Founded by husband and wife duo, Anthony and Christina Agostino, the company helps everyone – from local and developing artists to national and international artists, as well as music professionals – by providing resources and campaign solutions for each of their clients to flourish.

The agency brings together Christina’s background in events, label services, and communications and Anthony’s first-hand experience as a DJ/producer (Right-O). As well as creative services including holistic marketing, social media, PR, and communications, they also offer development services in the music, hospitality and event industries.

Since its inception, Cartel has worked with local and national artists to build their overall presence in the music industry including Josh Cashman, Miller Roberts, and iiiCONIC; and have more recently joined with BennyGregs – a media personality, entrepreneur, author and producer – who has seen tremendous growth since Cartel’s inclusion in his team.

They’ve worked with hundreds of independent artists, setting up an artist development service focused on creating artist sustainability; breaking down and rebuilding systems for growth across streaming, social media, and release schedules within a one-hour session.

“It’s always been a goal of ours to give artists an understanding of what actually goes into a communications campaign, what they can expect, what the processes to grow meaningfully over time are and what the tangible results actually mean for their development. It is so important to us that the artists have control over their narrative and their development, as well as an understanding of how to achieve the goals they’ve set for their project,” says Christina.

The agency has also worked in a communications and services capacity with labels, national festivals and events including Onelove Music Group, Vicious/Be Rich Records, Remote Control and TeamWRK Recordings; Festival X, Dreamstate AU, Download Festival and Piknic Electronik.

Cartel has also worked internationally, assisting with campaigns for powerhouses, Peggy Gou (commercial radio servicing in AUNZ), SHOUSE (social structures, digital marketing, and PR in AUNZ), Rema (PR in AUNZ), David Guetta (label services), Jason Derulo (label services) and more.

“It’s great to be able to integrate what we’ve learned working on larger artist and event campaigns and translate those systems to local and developing acts. The music industry is consistently changing and we plan on being able to provide solutions at the forefront of each change. We’re looking forward to further adapting our services over the next few years,” says Anthony.
