Wheeler Centre Announce Season Two Programme

The Wheeler Centre will feature events including Ann Goldstein in coversation with Robert Dessaix discussing her relationship with language, her extensive career at the New Yorker and the surprising spread of Ferrante Fever, as well as podcasters PJ Vogt and Starlee Kine examining the new wave of US audio storytelling.

After honing her skills as an essayist and making her name as a feminist polemicist in the 1970s, Vivian Gornick cemented her reputation as a giant of personal narrative writing with her groundbreaking literary memoir, Fierce Attachments, for Season Two she will discuss her intertwined life and work.

David Hare has written more than 30 plays and received two Academy Award nominations, ahead of Melbourne Theatre Company’s revival of his acclaimed 1995 play Skylight, David Hare will be in conversation with Julian Burnside to examine politics, public institutions, art and the writing life.

 

Paula Hawkin, author of bestselling psychological thriller The Girl on the Train, will recount the twists and turns of her journey to overnight success, and dissect our interest in emotionally nuanced literary thrillers.

 

Elsewhere in Season Two comes events featuring Jeanette Winterson, Cate Kennedy, and Jonathan Franzen.
