Time Travelling At Red Bennies

This isn’t Doctor Who, instead this form of time travel involves magic, conjuring, burlesque and cabaret.

Red Bennies will transport their audience through space and time with their one night only event Time Machine. But this isn’t Doctor Who – instead this form of time travel involves magic, conjuring, burlesque and cabaret.

Three main performers are included in Time Machine‘s line up. First there is cabaret magician Julia Madotti who has performed solo shows in Berlin, Hong Kong and Japan as well as around Australia including shows at Crown Casino and the Sydney Opera House. Her work includes original work with parasols, fire, masks and even levitations. She is known for her creative costuming and props, including pyrotechnic ball gowns and exploding umbrellas.

As a graduate of the National Institure of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) Richard Vegas has been a professional actor for over 17 years as well as more than 10 years of experience as a magician. With regular shows at Sydney’s Star City Casino, Vegas fuses the more traditional forms of magic with the edgier street magic.

Described as a “pin-up pocket rocket”, Kelly Ann Dolly has trained in both theatre and dance. After performing in the Australian Burlesque Festival as well as in Burlesque Royal at Crown Casino, Kelly Ann Dolly will return to the Red Bennies for this one night only event.

The night will be hosted by Aurora Kurth as the MC, Madame Leila Montasano with both her and the perfomers dressed in a neo-Victorian fashion with Steampunk Fashion designer Alexandra Gil Chambers from Clockwork Butterfly

Time Machine will be playing at Red Bennies in Chapel Street for one night on April 8 at 8pm. Tickets are available through the Red Bennies website or by phone on (03) 9826 2689.
