Steel Panther

There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just rip it off like a band-aid. Arriving here at Steel Panther's third record (or fourth, considering their twice-rebranded "self-titled" album), are fans enjoying this or enduring this? Steel Panther's run their "comedy" glam metal needle past red, perhaps for good.

Ah, LA. Centre of Western culture. Home of the B-grade movie, the toy poodle and the failed TV pilot. Whether you see it as a blight on the cultural landscape or a bastion of the creative elite, there is no denying the power of its output. The Sunset Strip has given birth to much music over the decades. Such luminaries as The Doors, The Byrds and Frank Zappa honed their craft in the many clubs...

It's time to stock up on protection, Steel Panther are bringing their STD (Spreading The Disease) tour to Australia.

One of the Sunset Strip's most beloved exports, Steel Panther will once again descend on Australian shores for a week-long tour filled with their signature debauchery, spandex and rock'n'roll.

Steel Panther last hit Australian shores in October,...

My Steel Panther experience was probably a bit different to most concertgoers. A contingent of media folk were collected in a stretch Hummer and driven around Melbourne while Steel Panther's brilliant new live DVD The British Invasion played on the multiple screens throughout the behemoth vehicle. We were supplied with wine, beer and - oh sweet decadence - Barbecue Shapes before...

It's been a few years since LA rock monsters Steel Panther vehemently penetrated the world's eardrums with the resounding battle cry of 'Death To All But Metal', and they've stayed true to their all-conquering ethos ever since. Evidently, the world – Australia in particular – has heeded the call. After a typically turbulent recording process, the band unleashed their second serving of...

Steel Panther Support Announced

Sydney's The Art have been named national support for Steel Panther's October Australian tour. These lads have built quite the reputation locally, and they managed to catch the attention of LA booker and former Guns N' Roses manager Vicky Hamilton. They've supported the likes of Them Crooked Vultures, Marilyn Manson and The Pixies. Their latest album is...

Well, what a crazy week in metal. Last weekend Black Sabbath played their first show with Ozzy in quite a while, with Ozzy's drummer Tommy Cluefetos standing in for Bill Ward, who is on the outs over a contract dispute. I wouldn't hold your breath for any Australian shows at the moment, but hopefully Tony Iommi's cancer treatment will be successful and they can schedule more shows...

It seems like Melbourne just can't wait to get their Balls Out for their second 2012 helping of Steel Panther. As you're probably aware, tickets to their headline show sold out in under half an hour. But fear not, a venue upgrade has just been announced.

Soundwave promoter AJ has...
