Who are we chatting to? I’mGary Soloman, singer/songwriter as one half of Melbourne-based indie pop/rock duo Soloman and Lacey, the other half of the duo is Tallulah Lacey on vocals and percussion.

What do you reckon people will say you sound like? Our influences are quite eclectic, people compare us to everybody from Fleetwood Mac to Angus and Julia Stone.

What do you love about making music? Music has been a big part of me ever since I was ten years old and has helped me keep connected to the creative spirit.

What do you hate about the music industry? We need more Australian content on our commercial radio stations, this alone would help support a lot more musicians in the industry in a viable and sustainable way.

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be? My music teacher and mentor Ron Terry. When I left home at 15 he opened many doors and opportunities, like when I got to play in Bo Diddley’s band at the Melbourne Entertainment Centre when I was still in my teens.

What can a punter expect from your live show? We always go out there with the intention to give everything we have in our kit, let the muse have us and deliver our songs in a way that serves them justice.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise? Tallulah and I have five previous studio recordings on CD between us, the sixth album Dancing on Diamonds is due for release in September.
