The Garage Band program is run with musician, curator and lecturer Joseph O’Farrell (JOF) – founding member of theatre company The Suitcase Royale – who has performed internationally and delivered workshop programs at The Tate Modern in London.

Garage Band will be part-block party in the centre of Melbourne, part-live music TV show, and will offer up to 100 young Melbourne musicians the chance to perform in front of a wide and captive audience, alongside a major headliner that’s yet to be revealed.

It’s part of ALWAYS LIVE’s commitment to help rebuild Melbourne’s momentous live music industry, providing opportunities for young musicians in the wake of COVID’s impact.

Even if you’re not performing, mark October 22 in your calendar as an unmissable chance to see the next generation of Melbourne bands strut their stuff on the main stage.
