The new managers are still being kept under wraps until an official announcement down the track. But they said in a statement: “With a proud reputation as one of the premier medium sized music venues in the country, the involvement of the new owners heralds an exciting future for the venue. With strong ties to Melbourne’s live music and arts scene, venues, hotels and music marketing, the new management team (is) excited about the opportunity of adding their skill and vision to The Workers Club.”
The venue will now showcase live music, film and cultural events.
As a result, the new owners have confirmed that the venue has parted ways with its long time booker Way Over There.
“All at The Workers are grateful to them for their hard work and commitment in helping shape the venue to date. Details of the new team will be forthcoming and we look forward to them adding a renewed vigour to the venue,” they said.
The new owners have been contacted by Beat for further comment.
