Name/Band:

Moroccan Kings

Define your genre in five words or less:

“Sexy, slutty, moist, clammy and frigid.”

What do think people say you sound like?

“A common phrase amongst the people is ‘It wasn’t as shit as I thought it was going to be’.”

How long have you been gigging and writing?

“‘Bout four years, I think. When it comes to writing you can’t get it right but you can get it wrong.”

What has been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?

“We’ve recently played ‘Rock The Bay’ at The Espy, that was pretty sweet. There were fights, loose women and chickens (loose chickens).”

What inspires or has influenced your music the most?

“Not shit music.”

In playing shows, or even simply heading out in general, how do you plan on getting home safely?

“I usually don’t take the car ‘cos I’m almost guaranteed to be over the limit by the end of the night. Play it safe, wear a Johnny Depp.”

What do you think about the idea of the ‘designated driver’, or loading into a taxi, to get home after a show?

“I think the idea of designated driver is good, as long as it’s not me. I do like to drink.”

Do you have any releases to date? What? Where can I get it? Is it good?

“We have just finished recording our EP Bullfighters with the help of producer Damien ‘Back Of The Bus’ Charles. Which will be released later this year and will be available at shows and any half decent record stores.”

Why should everyone come and see your band?

“Don’t just see our band, try and take the time to listen to the music while you observe our behaviour. I don’t think just the visuals will suffice.”

When and where are you playing next?

“We are releasing our single Hamburger at The Northcote Social Club this Friday May 27. Every entry includes a free copy of our single. Also our good friends Xenograft are also releasing their EP. I’d buy that for a dollar.

Parting words?

“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.”
