MOFO is the Museum of Old and New Art’s Festival of Music and Art in Tasmania. For five days Mona’s underground galleries, sprawling lawns and other spaces will be transformed for the event.
After forming in Oklahoma in the early ’80s, The Flaming Lips have spent more than 30 years fighting against the rules of rock music, releasing more than 16 albums and breaking Jay-Z’s Guinness World Record for the most live concerts in 24 hours. For the record they played eight shows across the Mississippi Delta, kicking off in Memphis, Tennessee, and wrapping things up at the House of Blues in New Orleans.
The band has worked with a whole host of artists, from their recent collaboration with Miley Cyrus to Nick Cave, Yoko Ono, Lightning Bolt and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.
