Major Lazer

In what has to be the loosest gig I’ve been to in a very, very long time, Major Lazer completely tore The Palace down. Supports Flosstradamus kicked the party into gear with their trap, trill and heavy electro mashes opening with Flux Pavlillion’s Do Or Die remix, setting the crowd up for what was to come. With enough lighting effects to cause an epileptic fit, the majority under-25 crowd were...

Major Lazer are going to tear the roof off The Palace this January with a little help from their friends in Flosstradamus.

Together, they have let hoards of people know what's up when they take the stage at Mad Decent's block parties across the USA. It's now time for them to bring the party Down Under.

It has been a big year for Sydney lads RÜFÜS. The young band have been to New York and played in front of their heroes, had great success at home with their single This Summer, and toured with the likes of Röyksopp. That last one may have been a foregone conclusion, given the bands’ shared love of umlauts, but RÜFÜS were still terribly excited at the chance to share a stage with Norway’s...

Easter: my much-adored season of chocolate, regrettable weight gain and an excellent extended weekend away from work.

There exist plenty of strange traditions for celebrating such a holiday, and we quite like the one that New Guernica have lined up - bringing down French duo Beataucue for an evening on the decks. Recently discovered and hyped by the Crookers then quickly...

Diplo is one dude mired in controversy. Go on, I dare you: put “Diplo hates” into Google and you’ll find the guy reppin’ a serious hate-on for everybody from Lady Gaga and infamously, his ex-girlfriend and collaborator M.I.A. to poor music journalists like me. More than happy to run his mouth and tell it exactly like it is, Diplo (whose family and friends know him as Thomas Wesley Pentz) sure...
