Madman Entertainment, one of Australia’s leading independent entertainment content distributors, is looking for a Publicity Executive. Following a recent restructure, an opportunity has opened up for a talented junior publicist with a minimum of two years experience in publicity or communications in arts/entertainment or related industries. Reporting to the Publicity & Promotions Manager and working within the films team, you will be responsible for implementing communications strategies that raise awareness of Madman’s films to relevant audiences.
The role will be focused on publicity and promotions across a range of products under the ‘Films’ product banner, across the theatrical and home entertainment/digital channels.
Key tasks include:
– Implementation of VIC, SA & TAS publicity for theatrical titles, in collaboration with Publicity & Promotions Manager.
– Planning and implementation of publicity for limited and event style theatrical releases.
– Planning and implementation of national publicity & promotions for key ‘Films’ titles around home entertainment & digital release dates.
– Assisting Publicity & Promotions Manager with national brand promotions.
– Compiling and distributing publicity materials.
– Compiling post analysis reports for all titles.
To excel in this role you will need to be tertiary qualified in communications or marketing, with a fantastic understanding of the media landscape. You are hard working, passionate, and a lateral thinker. Given the broad range of tasks, time management and organisation are absolutely essential. You will be comfortable working across a variety of digital and social platforms. Experience working with (or for) external publicity agencies is a bonus. Working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including media, it goes without saying that the role requires immaculate communication skills.
