Under the banner of When Kev Met Bob, the tour promises a captivating fusion of classic Jebediah hits and the more contemporary sounds of Bob Evans. Kevin will dip into Jebediah’s rich catalogue, spanning from the ’90s to the present day. Meanwhile, Bob Evans will offer an acoustic and folk-oriented performance, featuring songs from his six-album discography over the last two decades.

What binds the evening together are the untold stories behind the music, weaving an intimate narrative that transforms each song into a cherished memory. This tour marks a groundbreaking moment for Kevin, as he merges his solo work and Jebediah career, a distinction he’s maintained for nearly three decades.

“This is a show I have always had in the back of my mind though,” says Kevin.

“I have always just kind of been sitting on it and waiting until it felt right to do so. For nearly 30 years I have kept my solo music and my Jebediah music separate, and that has been a very deliberate decision that was also an important one to me. I think I have reached the point now however where that separation has done its job. So I suppose it feels a little freeing and exciting to step into a new phase now; The Kevin Evans years!”

Kevin’s musical journey is well-documented, starting with the formation of Jebediah during his teenage years. The band quickly soared to prominence with radio hits, chart-topping albums, and unforgettable festival performances. In 1999, as Jebediah continued to capture hearts, Kevin began exploring a new sonic landscape with Bob Evans.

Steering away from Jebediah’s alt-rock energy, Bob Evans’ sound embraced acoustic and folk elements, epitomized by his 2003 debut album, Suburban Kid. Even during Jebediah’s album hiatus, Bob Evans persisted, releasing his sixth album, Tomorrowland, just two years ago.

With decades of musical experience between them, the When Kev Met Bob tour promises to be a mesmerizing celebration of one of Australia’s finest songwriters and performers. For Kevin, it’s an opportunity to do what he’s cherished for almost 30 years.

“I really think it’s quite simple, there’s no trick to it. I still love it and haven’t quit. My motivations in the very beginning were always just based around satisfying my own happiness and not really about achieving any sort of tangible markers of success,” Kevin reflects.
