Two of Melbourne's finest electronic proponents are teaming up for a free show taking place this Friday.

 

Techno duo Forces have been commanding attention with their distinctive industrial menace, releasing a stellar self-titled 12" earlier in the year. Their deep house brethren Kangaroo Skull put on a live show quite like no other, with a sensory overload to treat the mind.

It was a novelty for some, seeing Melbourne’s most venerable rock establishment being comprehensively absorbed by strobe, fog and deep house. My Disco side project Kangaroo Skull played against many of the ingrained conventions of a Melbourne gig, and it was refreshing to be able to have the option of kicking on into the early AM (even if it was a weeknight).

One of the country's most engaging musical figures has announced an all-too-rare Melbourne headline show, with Kirin J Callinan set to hit town to preface his upcoming full-length W II W.
