Name/Band:

Hi! I’m Angus, and I play guitar and sing in the band called Hunter

Define your genre in five words or less:

Serious songs, played by idiots.

So, someone is walking past as you guys are playing, they then go get a beer and tell their friend about you… what do they say?

“Where did all the beers go?”

How long have you been gigging and writing?

We started the band at the start of 2010, and have been gigging and writing ever since.

What has been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?

For me personally, it was a true honour to support Coerce for their album launch this year. That was a really fun show. Apart from when I knocked over a full pint with my furious rock-star moves and antics.

Which band would you most like to have a battle/showdown with?

Any band that thinks they can drink more beers than us.

What inspires or has influenced your music the most?

It’s really hard to say. We listen to anything from M. Ward to Cursive, from Radiohead to the Dillinger Escape Plan, and are equally influenced by everything we’re into at any given moment.

Got a record?

We’re releasing our debut three-track EP, titled Penguin, in September, which will be the first in a series of four three-track releases.

Why should everyone come and see your band?

Because there is no bullshit about us: what you see is what you get. That being; straight up and honest musicians, clever song writing, intricate guitar lines, heartfelt lyrics, and of course, drunken buffoonery by whoever didn’t have to drive gear to the gig.

When’s the gig?

We’re launching Penguin at The Old Bar, Friday September 2, with our good friends Iowa, Have/Hold, and Zombie Psychologist.
