This visually rich and literate adaptation of Patrick White’s novel marks Fred Schepisi’s first Australian film since Evil Angels, over 20 years ago. Written in 1973, White’s novel was an exploration of class issues in Australian society in the early 70’s, but much of it still seems relevant today.
